Crafting exquisite cutlery since 1929
The Laguiole Magnum collection from Fontenille Pataud, renowned as the "jeweler" of French cutlery, features exquisite sommelier knives. The Laguiole Magnum corkscrew stands out with its generous design, captivating wine enthusiasts and collectors alike with its aesthetic appeal and the impressive size of the rare materials used for the handle, crafted by master cutlers. The rounded handle provides exceptional comfort and a stunning visual display of its material. Fontenille Pataud's patented flared lever system allows for effortless bottle opening in two steps. The blade, extremely sharp and easy to open, is intentionally non-serrated for a clean cut of the cork's protective capsule. The long, conical spiral ensures easy cork penetration with minimal damage, even for older corks. Connoisseurs will appreciate the iconic Laguiole bee and the spring, forged and sculpted from a single piece.
LAGUIOLE MAGNUM
2 steps uncorking guide
This handle is a true marvel, blending art with a rare, densified giraffe bone, an endangered and protected species. Rest assured, the few giraffe bones purchased by FONTENILLE PATAUD are legal and guaranteed to come from giraffes that have passed away naturally, not due to human cruelty or smuggling. This is certified by the CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) certificate, requested by LAGUIOLE ASIA and provided by FONTENILLE PATAUD (see the certificate photo). The giraffe bone has been “densified,” a process that solidifies the bone and injects a single-color dye, black for this model. The master cutlers of FONTENILLE PATAUD have meticulously pieced, assembled, and polished this handle, making it truly unique and sublime.
Often referred to as the Hermès of French cutlery, Fontenille Pataud is celebrated for magnificently enhancing rare & precious materials and the exceptional skills of its cutlers. Amateurs will be delighted by the beauty of fossilized mammoth ivory, Damascus blade or lever, sculpted handles or “guilloches” technics used in their collections of corkscrews “Laguiole Magnum”, table knives and folding knives. With a focus on quality over quantity, Fontenille Pataud crafts on demand, ensuring each piece is a true masterpiece. Each knife is meticulously handcrafted by a single master cutler, from start to finish. We, Laguiole Asia, take immense pride in introducing their exquisite creations to all of Asia for the very first time.
Fontenille Pataud folding knives come with a lifetime guarantee, while table knives and corkscrews are guaranteed for 5 years. These guarantees cover any potential manufacturing defects but do not include normal wear and tear, misuse, or accidents. However, the Fontenille Pataud workshops offer comprehensive maintenance and repair services for any damaged or worn parts, including blade re-sharpening, tightening, and handle repairs. Laguiole Asia will serve as your liaison with Fontenille Pataud for all your maintenance needs.Water can cause significant damage to precious woods, horns, and fossilized ivory. Instead, wipe the handle with a dry cloth.
The Fontenille Pataud gift box contains the corkscrew, a France made leather sleeve and a numbered certificate.
