After the success of L'Ame steak knives, and the revolution at the heart of the French cutlery traditions the first asymmetric Thiers knife created, renowned French Designer Thomas Basted and Master Cutler Claude Dozorme launched the "Shadow", dressing this time the naked side of the L'Ame knife with thin polished bakelite layer colored in total contrast with the other side of the handle. And the result is simply splendid! Its keeps the unique principle of an asymmetric handle. A new to tribute to Thiers, which is both France capital of cutlery, and a knife shape like Laguiole, its twin brother, is.

Its one piece conception (full tang knife) is in the pure tradition of genuine Thiers & Laguiole knives (mainly produced in Thiers actually). The blade reveals itself in splendor and sobriety while the asymmetrical handle allows it to hold in balance on the right side and thus does not touch the tablecloth, a superb tenure effect on the table and very hygienic. The contrasted colors of the handle really bring something special to the table, chic, elegant, modern. You can mix them as you wish for an even more surprising effect: thin white / thick black + thick white / thin black for example.

The Designer ~ Thomas Bastide is the renown French resident designer for the prestigious crystal workshops Baccarat, and creates regularly acclaimed objects many other luxury workshops such as Hermes and Christofle. Claude Dozorme cutlery first approached T. Bastide to revisit the traditional Thiers steak knife, the twin brother of Laguiole. A rich and successful partnership between the historic French cutlery workshop and the talented designer having already launched 4 collections together: FlatCut, Thiers Shadow, Thiers L'Ame & Thiers L'Ame Luxe.

Claude Dozorme cutlery ~ At heart of Thiers, France and Europe capital of cutlery, the Dozorme family of Master cutlers were already the first to innovate in the early 1900's by transforming the famous Laguiole knife, a folding knife only at that time, into the famous table knife, fixed blade, found on the best tables around the world nowadays. For more than 120 years, Dozorme cutlery has perfected its knife making traditions while always innovating in new techs, systems and designs.
