Creation series | O. Gagnere
The Nontron knife holds the distinction of being the oldest knife in France. Crafted in the Nontron cutlery located in the southwest of France, its artisanal production dates back to at least the 15th century. The creation of each knife involves no fewer than 40 meticulous steps and is the sole responsibility of a single cutler. The handmade nature of the Nontron knife ensures its outstanding quality and sharpness, earning it the esteem of knife aficionados.
The Creation series ~ Nontron stands as a beacon of excellence, collaborating with highly skilled and acclaimed designers. Their aim is to meld the expertise and traditions of Nontron's master knife-smiths with modernity, through the reinterpretation of the Nontron knife by some of the most esteemed design signatures. These extraordinary knives are collectively known as the Creation series of Nontron.
The Designer ~ Olivier Gagnère received the "Creator of the Year 1998" award in Paris. He has contributed to numerous projects, such as "The Lido" and the "Hotel Marignan Champs Elysées" in Paris, as well as the restaurants of multi-Michelin-starred Chef Pierre Gagnaire. His works are featured in major international museums, including the MOMA in New York, the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris, and the Museum of Modern Art in San Francisco. His exquisite Nontron creation knife, made with dica, a black acrylic, offers sophistication for the table while being dishwasher safe and easy to maintain.
