The Laguiole Magnum collection from Fontenille Pataud, renowned as the "jeweler" of French cutlery, features exquisite sommelier knives. The rounded handle provides exceptional comfort and a stunning visual display of its material. Fontenille Pataud's patented flared lever system allows for effortless bottle opening in two steps. The blade, extremely sharp and easy to open, is intentionally non-serrated for a clean cut of the cork's protective capsule. The long, conical spiral ensures easy cork penetration with minimal damage, even for older corks. Connoisseurs will appreciate the iconic Laguiole bee and the spring, forged and sculpted from a single piece.

Simply said, that's a stunning model. This handle is mounted with a real Mammoth tusk ivory that fossilized in Siberia, in the permafrost, over thousands of years. Magnificent, this handle is therefore also a piece of our history and archaeology. This fossilized ivory exhibits very beautiful navy-blue reflections in its center but has not been completely mineralized, which makes it an even rarer piece. 

To accompany such an exceptional material, the craftsman cutler who worked on this piece hand-carved the plates both above and below the handle ("guilloche" in French), a goldsmith's work, and mounted a Damascus steel lever, this ancestral blacksmith technique fusing different layers of steel and carbon, offering exceptional resistance and the superb patterns that can be seen.
